An evening to celebrate the Regeneron Science Talent Search 2021 scholars
While we鈥檙e all eager to safely gather in-person again, virtual events can have advantages too. For the first time in the competition鈥檚 80-year history, the top 300 scholars in the Regeneron STS 2021 had an opportunity to e-meet. Over 270 high school seniors, including a scholar from Singapore, joined together to celebrate their incredible accomplishments as young scientists and engineers.
STS alumni, Maya Ajmera, the Society鈥檚 President and CEO, and George D. Yancopoulos, Co-Founder, President and Chief 京东影业影视传媒 Officer of Regeneron, delivered encouraging remarks. Maya noted that it was now up to each and every one of the scholars 鈥渢o solve our most intractable problems.鈥 George echoed that sentiment and acknowledged the students as 鈥減art of a very special club of individuals鈥 poised to tackle both present and future challenges. Then, participants got to know each other in multiple breakout rooms with different activities, including sharing their research, learning about Regeneron internship opportunities and playing games such as Geoguessr and Skribbl.
Here鈥檚 a look at the event:
