The Society recently launched , a new science education blog for students, parents, and educators. Eureka! Lab is part of 鈥�,鈥� a new part of the 京东影业影视传媒 & the Public鈥檚 website that includes information on our educational competitions, resources, and the recently renamed Science News for Students online publication.

 

Why Eureka!Lab? These days the word 鈥渆ureka,鈥� widely attributed to the ancient Greek scholar Archimedes, tends to be used to exclaim a big discovery, like E = mc2, a disease cure or a vein of gold on a mountainside. And, for sure, what motivates most scientists is to find something completely new 鈥� something that no one else in the world knows. But in fact, the word is based on the Greek verb 鈥渆vresko鈥� (蔚蠀蟻委蟽魏蠅), which simply means 鈥渢o find.鈥� So every time you discover something new 鈥� even if it鈥檚 only new to you 鈥� you鈥檙e having a Eureka! moment!
