• The聽 Intel聽 Science聽 Talent聽 Search聽 2012聽 finalists聽 hail聽 from聽 16聽 states聽 and聽 represent聽 39聽 schools.
• More聽 than聽 47聽 percent聽 of聽 this聽 year鈥檚聽 finalists聽 go聽 to聽 school聽 in聽 either聽 New聽 York聽 or California.
• The聽 independent聽 research聽 projects聽 of聽 this聽 year鈥檚聽 finalists聽 include聽 topics聽 such聽 as聽 photodynamic聽 cancer聽 therapy;聽 breast聽 cancer聽 research;聽 innovative聽 water聽 conservation聽 solutions;聽 fiber聽 optic聽 research聽 related聽 to聽 Internet聽 data聽 security;聽 alternative聽 energy聽 solutions;聽 and聽 landmine聽 detection聽 technology.
